We live in a culture that celebrates the dramatic transformation, the complete lifestyle overhaul, the month-long wellness retreat. But what if I told you that some of the most meaningful changes happen in the spaces between—in those tiny pockets of time we often overlook?
R U OK Day rolls around each year, and with it comes the familiar flurry of social media posts, workplace initiatives, and well-meaning conversations. But here’s what I’ve been noticing: we’re all talking more about mental health, yet many of us still feel utterly unprepared when someone actually says, “No, I’m not OK.”
We’ve somehow convinced ourselves that rest is the reward we get after everything else is done—a luxury item on our wellbeing shopping list rather than the foundation that makes everything else possible. Relationality in wellbeing is the acknowledgement that we are fundamentally interconnected. Our wellbeing doesn't happen in a vacuum; it emerges through our relationships and connections. And yet, so much of the self-care conversation positions it as individual work, personal responsibility, something we must master on our ow
